Donya Sweeney

Administrative Assistant

Struggling with asthma from a young age, Donya shied away from sports for most of her life. After she had her daughter, she found herself searching for ways to get fit. She tried the classes and basic lifting equipment at a local gym, but eventually ended up embracing the last thing she ever imagined, running! She went from barely being able to finish a lap around the indoor track to crushing 5k’s, 10k’s, half-marathons and ultimately, full-marathons.
Last May she decided to incorporate strength training into her running routine. She has spent the past year at NJ Elite participating in the Group Fitness Classes.  Over the past twelve months, She has gained more confidence in her athletic abilities, pushing herself in ways she never thought possible.
Donya has a degree in elementary education from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. She has  ran over 20 5k’s and 10k’s, 10 half marathons and 3 full marathons.
Donya's current goals are to run a marathon in all 50 states, and to become a certified personal trainer.
At NJ Elite Performance, you will find Donya doing anything and everything!
